Wayze is committed to protecting your privacy through secure, transparent, and responsible data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how Wayze collects, processes, stores, uses, protects, and shares your information. Wayze operates exclusively in India and is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. By using Wayze, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
Definitions
- Personal Data: Information identifying or reasonably relating to an individual, including name, email, device identifiers, and vehicle registration numbers when linked to an individual.
- Data Fiduciary: Wayze, the entity that determines the purpose and means of processing personal data under the DPDP Act, 2023.
- Data Principal: You, the individual to whom the personal data relates.
- Communication Metadata: Non-content call and alert data such as timestamps, duration, and routing events.
- Sub-Processor:A third-party provider engaged by Wayze to process personal data on Wayze's behalf.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in using Google Sign-In, we may collect your full name, email address, and profile image associated with your Google account.
Vehicle Information
We collect vehicle registration numbers entered manually by you, along with related vehicle details such as vehicle type.
Verification Information
Registration Certificate (RC) documents may be submitted voluntarily via email to contact@wayze.in for ownership verification. RC documents are not uploaded through the app itself.
Communication Metadata
- Call timestamps and duration
- Alert delivery timestamps
- Notification logs
Wayze does not store, record, or retain the audio content of VoIP calls.
Device and Technical Information
- Device model and operating system
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications
- App version
- IP address processed by infrastructure providers

- Vehicle search history
- Call records such as status and duration

How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

Lawful basis under the DPDP Act, 2023 includes user consent provided at registration and legitimate interests such as fraud prevention and platform safety.
Device Permissions
Microphone
Wayze uses your microphone only during active VoIP calls to connect you with vehicle owners. It is never accessed outside of a call.
Camera and Photo Library
Wayze uses your camera only to let you upload your Registration Certificate (RC) for vehicle verification and your profile photo.
Notifications
Notifications are used for incoming call alerts, parking and movement alerts, moderation notices, and account updates.
Permission Minimisation
Wayze requests only permissions necessary for platform functionality.
Communication Privacy
- Calls route through Wayze's VoIP infrastructure
- Personal phone numbers are never disclosed to other users
- Receiving parties see only the caller's initials
- VoIP audio is transmitted in real time and not stored
- Communication metadata may be processed for abuse prevention and safety
Wayze does not guarantee complete anonymity where legal disclosure is required by a competent Indian authority.
Third-Party Services and Sub-Processors
Firebase
Firebase is used for Google Sign-In, push notifications (FCM), crash reporting, and analytics.
ZegoCloud
ZegoCloud is used for VoIP calling. Technical data such as IP address, device identifiers, and call duration metadata may be processed to establish voice connections. Wayze does not share your name, email, RC documents, or vehicle history with ZegoCloud for call setup.
Cloud Infrastructure
Wayze uses secure cloud hosting for backend infrastructure in encrypted environments.
Wayze will never sell, lease, trade, or transfer your personal data, vehicle data, or RC documents to any marketing company, insurance firm, car dealership, or data broker.
Data Sharing
Wayze does not sell personal data. Data may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With operational service providers and sub-processors
- To comply with valid legal obligations or court orders
- To prevent fraud or threats to safety
- With law enforcement under valid Indian legal process
- During a merger or acquisition with prior notice to users

Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you may:
- Request access to the personal data Wayze holds about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Lodge a grievance with Wayze's Grievance Officer
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
- Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
Requests can be sent to contact@wayze.in. Requests are acknowledged within 24 hours and responded to within 30 days.
Account Deletion
You may request account deletion through in-app settings or by emailing contact@wayze.in. Upon deletion, authentication access is revoked, vehicle associations are removed, your name is anonymised, notifications are deleted, call records are anonymised, and FCM tokens are purged.
User Safety and Moderation
Wayze provides Report Abuse, user blocking, and Ghost Mode. Platform activity may be investigated using metadata and human moderation. Wayze may permanently ban abusive users by verified identity. Users may request human review of automated actions by emailing contact@wayze.in.
Data Security

- FCM token purge on logout and account deletion
- Crash monitoring and anomaly detection
In the event of a personal data breach, Wayze will notify affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as required by applicable law.
Children's Privacy
Wayze is not intended for users under 16. Wayze does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Please contact contact@wayze.in immediately if you believe a child under 13 has registered on the platform.

Analytics and Tracking
- Firebase Analytics collects usage events for platform improvement
- Firebase Crashlytics collects crash traces and device details for reliability monitoring
- Wayze does not share user data with ad networks for targeted advertising
Policy Changes
Significant changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated through in-app notification before they take effect. Continued use of Wayze after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
